Trying to stay on course with my new direction on this Blog.
Recently we moved to Idaho, near Boise. I was to start a job for the DOD in October, I was really excited, it was a job that I knew I could excel at quickly. I had talked to a few people in our ward that worked there and they let me know that with my experience I would be headhunted by other departments after I hired and that would mean a nice raise. I was excited at the prospect... but then they pushed the start date to sometime in November, then they pushed it back again, and then stated that they did not know what was going on, then no contact at all. So I took a job, part time, at a local grocery store working nights stocking the shelves. They had an opening after I started for a computer field tech, I applied and was excited that I may actually start being able to support my family in the way that I should gain. Our savings were being drained, and life living with family is not always how you think it may be, even if you are best friends with them. My eldest boy was doing well, but not treated to well. His cousins did not like to play with him and one of them liked to scream at him all the time and hit him lots. We tried to work these wrinkles out, Ethan is a big kid (2 years old and just about 40 pounds) so I was not worried about him. In fact most times he just sat there smiling not knowing what was going on. Other times he would give his persecutor a big hug. It was very rare that he was hurt by them, I was worried about the emotional conflict that he was having due to Beth or I pulling him out of the situations even when he was not at fault, thus upsetting him and making him feel as if it were his fault. I admit, there were times it was his fault, and we were sure to jump on that as fast as we could. Many times it was not.
Some would say that all of this was leading to a bad years end, I would disagree. I moved to Idaho knowing that that was what I was supposed to do. I have no doubt that was what I was supposed to do. In the process we have a renter in our house in Phoenix that really needed a home. We have income from that house. We will be able to afford a bigger house (once I have been working for time again) We grew closer, as a couple, my wife and I, and as a family. We learned that some things are not as we suppose and not to judge another's situation based on what we perceive, if it be good or bad in perception. I grew closer to my youngest, whom I had a hard time getting close to because how fuss he was. I learned to deal with it and eventually how to make him happy. I have come closer to God, and that I feel is a great blessing. All in all I look at it like the Mormon Battalion, they were asked to leave their comfort, and they struggled on their journey, the test in the end was to see who would obey and who would falter. This I feel was the same, it was to see if my family would obey. I hope that we have proved that we can. This may not be the end of it, there may be more on this journey, and I hope that I am ready for it if there is.
So all in all things are going great, we have our stresses, but those are to be expected. We still have our faith and our family, those things no one can take from us. Things will work out, they always do, so I don't worry. For all those that have helped us along the way, thank you, it is appreciated. May everyone know the spirit of God this holiday season.

time now
So on to other subjects.
I have been thinking a lot on how each of us affects another's life without knowing it. how we are more connected than we think. We assume that we have no affect when we do. Kinda like the Butterfly Effect Theory. I have also been thinking how this affects our judgments, especially on those that we know have affected our lives. I tend to think in extremes, sometimes as if I know how someone feels about me in particular, or how the outcome of something that has not happened will affect me, fearing it happening, if it ever does. All of it negative, usually leading to a sour mood. But I look back on it and it is always something small that sets it off, and I wonder if I am alone in how this is, if I am the only one that thinks this way. I know I am not, but it does not feel that way. I sometimes wonder why some people are mad at things that happened years ago and let it affect them for such a long time, festering and preventing them from having valid relationships in some cases. Even if their current life is something they love, how their disgust, hate, or dismay seems to cast shadows on parts of their lives preventing them from seeing the good that was there. I have normally been the type that looks back and sees the good and forgets the bad. There are few things that I remember the bad for, but they are the extremes. That is why it confuses me. I still have nightmares about being beat up by the same kids that bullied me in Jr High and High school. I still hurt inside from the pain that abuse from parental figures caused me, and a little from abandonment. I don't think on them often, only when I can't sleep due to them. I have been accused of holding on to things. I hope that don't. If I saw those that caused me pain, I think I would reflect on the pain, but would not dwell. Would it be bad if I would "care less" about what is happening in their lives? I would be sad if I heard of some loss that happened to them, but I am not going to search them out and break bread with them. I wonder if my attachments to past associates is too much at times. As if the friendships were never lost or tarnished with time. Other times, with those that seem the closest, I fear that I have wronged them with my peculiar behavior, killing what little precious friendship I had cultivated with them, leaving the dead vine of resentment I think they feel towards me. I don't know it if it is true, how they feel, I only know about the ones that have actually shown their feelings to me. I only know of those that have accused me of destroying their lives, or have shown me how they feel with their piercing glares, looks of disgust or the smiles (those are the ones I like). After this long self evaluation of my random and wondering thoughts I think this has come to an end, because I realize I cannot control what others feel towards me. I can only control what I feel towards them. I want to feel love and compassion for all, and I still struggle with that, but I hope I have made advancements with it. So in the end I remind myself as often as I can that I cannot control others feelings. There are many more things that I would like to ramble on about right now, but the clock strikes late and I must attend to other things.

stuff
This site will turn in to everything but political, or will try.
I have been leery about posting items on here about family. I really don't want a target placed on them for things that I post about political items.
So off to the races, this is what is going on in life.
Ethan is now 18 months old, that means I will no longer be in nursery with him at church, that means I can actually do some work in my calling. He has been trying so hard to say new words, we have the books out and read to him a lot. Yesterday he was trying to say car and it was something like "quaaacaar". We are so proud of him as he picks up little things here and there. He has a fascination with his bib drawer, he tends to take any cloth item and store it in there, such as my shirts, dirty bibs, and socks. For a few months now we have been able to ask him to put his clothes in the hamper and he eagerly doe is, and makes sure they are all the way in, not like his dad. Bath time is also a fun time for him, he loves to take a bath so much. we tell him it is time for a bath and he runs off to his room and starts to pull stuff out of place. It is his way of trying to get something done for his bath. We then undress him and tell him to run and he takes off for the bath and climbs in. He gets mad if we do not take his diaper off fast enough for him.
Next is bedtime, he loves it, and that makes us love it even more. We ask him to get his drinks and he gets his water and milk bottles and if one is too low he will bring it to the kitchen and we will fill it up and then he takes both to his room. Then we go through the struggle of brushing his teeth. Prayers are said then one of us sits with him, his blanket that he loves, his glow worm and his bottles, if one is missing he will let us know. He will usually drink his bottle while playing with his glow worm in the dark as we sit there rocking him. Then he will try to say bed, letting us know he wants in his bed, although sometimes bed and book both sound the same and he really wants his book. We set him in his bed and he just plays with his glow worm and talks for about a half hour to an hour and then goes to sleep. We are too lucky to have such a sweet little boy. He loves to torture the cats, especially when they are trying to sleep. He loves to go outside, I can't blame him, not that our house is all that big, I would go nuts in there too. He will run to get his shoes and bang on the door when we say the word "outside" or even if we say something about having to go.
This last week at church I sat in the back of the chapel on the stage due to the whole place being packed like a can of tuna. Ethan and I sat next to another couple form our ward that has a newborn little girl and Ethan was such a sweet little boy to her, he would lay his head on my arm as he gently touched her leg or the flowers on her dress. He will be a wonderful big brother.
It will be weird to have another little boy, I am sure we will love him to death also. We felt the same way before having Ethan, thinking of actually being parents was such a foreign idea to us now we cannot think of how it would be without him.
So I guess, that is all for now, enjoy life, enjoy family, may the blessings of heaven fall hard on you. Laters

claiming sovereignty under the tenth amendment to the constitution of the united states over certain powers, serving notice to the federal government to cease and desist certain mandates and providing that certain federal legislation be prohibited or repealed.

Whereas, the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States reads as follows: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people"; and
Whereas, the Tenth Amendment defines the total scope of federal power as being that specifically granted by the Constitution of the United States and no more; and
Whereas, the scope of power defined by the Tenth Amendment means that the federal government was created by the states specifically to be an agent of the states; and
Whereas, today, in 2009, the states are demonstrably treated as agents of the federal government; and
Whereas, many federal laws are directly in violation of the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States; and
WHEREAS, the Tenth Amendment assures that we, the people of the United States of America and each sovereign state in the Union of States, now have, and have always had, rights the federal government may not usurp; and
Whereas, Article IV, section 4, United States Constitution, says in part, "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government", and the Ninth Amendment states that "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people"; and
Whereas, the United States Supreme Court has ruled in New York v. United States, 112 S. Ct. 2408 (1992), that Congress may not simply commandeer the legislative and regulatory processes of the states; and
Whereas, a number of proposals from previous administrations and some now pending from the present administration and from Congress may further violate the Constitution of the United States.
Therefore
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona, the Senate concurring, that:
1. That the State of Arizona hereby claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the Constitution of the United States.
2. That this Resolution serves as notice and demand to the federal government, as our agent, to cease and desist, effective immediately, mandates that are beyond the scope of these constitutionally delegated powers.
3. That all compulsory federal legislation that directs states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties or sanctions or requires states to pass legislation or lose federal funding be prohibited or repealed.
4. That the Secretary of State of the State of Arizona transmit copies of this resolution to the President of the United States, the President of the United States Senate, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, the Speaker of the House and the President of the Senate of each state's legislature and each Member of Congress from the State of Arizona.
20 States have followed suite so far and are adopting like measures towards their freedom. The wording may look familiar due to it being the wording of one T Jefferson and his associates, some the founding fathers.
Time Will Tell
Two of the biggest enemies to a free society are a) lack of information and b) apathy.
Every American should go to YouTube and view the video of Barney Frank (D Mass.) on his comments regarding Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Republicans approached Congress YEARS AGO recommending more oversight on these two Government Sponsored Entities (GSE's) stating they were afraid that mismanagement could cause an economic tsunami of terrible proportions.
Barney Frank (and other Democrats) poopoo'd the advice saying (paraphrased) "There's nothing wrong with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, they're fundamentally sound. And even if they do go belly up the taxpayer isn't going to bail them out."
Fast Forward a few years: They were NOT fundamentally sound, they were cooking the books, and American taxpayers HAVE bailed them out.
So Barney, strike one, strike two, strike three, YOU'RE OUT. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Yet most Americans don't know these facts. And what's sadder still, is that most that do know, don't care. There is a general feeling that 'government is going to do what they want and there's nothing we can do about it.' Wrong again, honey.
As was said by George W. Bush, there are ramifications to elections. NOT just the Presidency but Congress as well. People got elected and this is what they've done.
People need to take PERSONAL responsibility for the choices they've made, including they choices they make at the polls.
MUCH of the proposed spending that is going to take place as part of this new "stimulus" sham, er, I mean 'plan,' won't take effect for two years. Guess what? There'll be Congressional elections before then. We can vote for people who will REPEAL these parts of the 'plan.' If we don't, we are saddling our children and our children's children with the biggest welfare payment in the history of mankind.
The question is, do you have the intelligence, the guts, and the will to do it. Time will tell.

My Right to life
You have the owner, he makes sure that all the slaves have equal treatment, except for those he favors. They all get food given to them, no matter their issue; sick, weak, strong, lazy, or ambitious. They all get equal right at advancement(which happens to be little to none), no matter their issue; sick, weak, strong, lazy, or ambitious. If one fails, a careful slave owner would do what they could to remedy the situation and get the worker into the field to work again, a loss of a worker did then the same as it does today, it reduces production. Slave owners liked to have slave work all day long for several reasons, more money is the obvious one, the next was to keep them worn out. The last is not the most obvious but will hit as logical; it kept them busy and prevented them from working together to free the mass of slaves. now every once in a while one would get away and escape to better life. The slaves around them would cheer for that one, hoping one day it would be them. Their were some slaves that were more privileged than the others, these would be ever so grateful to their owners for whatever handout they got that was above and beyond the normal handout. Slaves were not allowed to own weapons, especially guns. Any enterprise they had in whatever task they did was not looked upon kindly, by either the owner or the slave populous (save for the cotton gin). Any slave that seemed to work harder for the most part was approached by other slaves and asked to pull back, it made them look bad and raised the expectations, which if expectations were not met there were consequences from the owner.
Replace the word owner with the word Government, and slave with the word Citizen and you have what this country is becoming. In other words, Socialism. So in essence, you have a certain few, a certain elite group of people that give handouts to the working, they provide universal health care, housing, and general aid. There is a lot of talk about Lincoln, he would have abhorred what we are becoming today, his view was that all men should have an equal opportunity to become rich or poor. If they failed in doing so he would literally say, "Better luck next time." There would be no handouts, there would be no bailouts, there would be no Government stepping in. This is how America is supposed to work. Free enterprise is the opposite of socialism. America = free enterprise.

To protect us from them.
So after watching that it made me think about some things. I have some statistics on gun control from all over the world. I will post those, they were written by a reporter in Phillidelphia:

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. >From 1929 to 1 953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent.
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent.
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.
You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late!
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.
With guns, we are 'citizens'.
Without them, we are 'subjects'.
During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!

History has been made! Three times over!!
I really do not know what to say or what to do. I know that there are those that are giving up on the fight, I am now, will not, and never will. Those that do feel that it is too much to take on, I was reading up on Glen Becks website and he talked about this very thing. He then talked about the Alamo. I will just quote him directly:
"You know the Alamo, when you think of the Alamo, what do you think that is? Most people will think, "Oh, it's a fort," but it's not a fort. It wasn't some gigantic fortified castle, you know, built to try to hold off an advancing army. It was a mission. That's all it is is a mission. It had to be made into a fort, but it was the defenders of the Alamo who did just that. They made it into a fort. They faced insurmountable odds. 4,000 soldiers versus 188. 4,000 up against 188? Which one of those soldiers would you be? If you were the 188, would you be going, this is too -- I can't do it, I'm tired, we're alone, we're not going to make it. They were outmanned by over 20:1. This is just after Texas declared her independence. This is just a few weeks later they were forming the Republic of Texas. It was going to become its own country. Not a state. A country. The Mexican general, Santa Ana, demanded that they surrendered. And how did those 188 in the Alamo react? William Travis, who was in command at the Alamo wrote this letter: "I'm besieged by 1,000 or more of the Mexicans under Santa Ana. I've sustained a continual bombardment and candidate for 24 hours, and I haven't lost a man. The enemy has demanded a surrender. I've answered the demand with cannon shot, and our flag still waves proudly from the walls. I will never surrender; I will never retreat." I'm pretty sure I don't speak Texan but I think that means, "Yeah, thanks but no thanks." 188 men alone. They are running low on ammunition, they were running low on food and other supplies. The next day, another letter. This one, this one to Sam Houston. The commander was hoping that Sam Houston would get these letters and send, you know, "Help, help, help, help, send us somebody." He wrote, "Our numbers are few but I shall hold out to the last extremity hoping to secure reinforcements in a day or two. Do hasten on aid as rapidly as possible, from a superior number of the enemy, it will be impossible for us to keep them out much longer. If th ey overpower us, we fall a sacrifice at the shrine of our country," speaking of Texas," and we hope prosperity in our country will do our memory justice. Give me help. Oh, my country, give me help. Victory or death." Somehow these 188 men held out for more than a week against an evading army of 4,000. Have you ever been to the Alamo? It's a little -- 4,000 men advancing and 188 protected that? After ten days Travis was still hoping for reinforcements. He was still hoping, but he had no idea, he had no idea if they were coming or not. He understood the odds. He knew he wasn't going to be able to last much longer, but he didn't back up. He didn't back off. He didn't back up. He didn't whine. He didn't say, "I'm tired." He rode under the flag of independence, "We are ready to peril our lives 100 times a day. I will fight the enemy on his own terms. I'm ready to do it. And if my country men do not rally to my relief, I'm determined to perish in the defense of this place." Later that day he wrote one last time, "Take care of my little boy. If the country should be saved, I will make for him a splendid fortune but if the country be lost and I should perish, he will have nothing but the proud recollection but he is the son of a man who died for his country."
Three days later the Alamo would finally fall. The reinforcements didn't make it in time, but it didn't fall for 13 days and not before those 188 took out 600 of Santa Ana's men. More importantly was the number of days, 13 days. It gave 13 days to Sam Houston. He was able to put together a volunteer army, an army that defeated Santa Ana, gave birth to the Republic of Texas, its own country, its own constitution.
Here's the story. These 188 people, they weren't any different than you. Some of them were soldiers, some of them were just regular people, some of them were just, "I'm going to take a stand." You want to feel alone, 188 surrendered by 4,000, they didn't pick the place or the time of their fight. They wouldn't have done it at a mission. If they could have picked anywhere, it wouldn't have been there. They just knew that their cause was just. They just knew that their lives were worth lying down for what was right. They just knew that there was something bigger and more important than them. How did they know it? Why didn't they desert? Why didn't they surrender when they saw 4,000? They did it because they were committed to the idea of liberty. They did it because they felt they owed it to one another: "If he stands, I'll stand. I ain't going anywhere with your brother. We're in it together." When you feel connected to somebody else, you don't give up. That's how soldiers in the battlefield or P.O.W. camps rally around each other because he's standing; I'll stand. It's not about ideology. It's about our commitment to each other. It's about knowing that you're not alone and letting someone else know that they're not alone.
Even when you can't see the people fighting with you, even when you're in the Alamo and you're all alone, just 188 of you and you don't know if that army is coming tonight or never, you just fight on because you're not alone.
It's not just some crazy history lesson about the Alamo. These people didn't die to defend the Alamo which is now some place where you go on vacation and have your picture taken in front of it, and most people don't even know what it means or what it stands for. They didn't just die for protecting the Alamo or even Texas. Today they died to teach us a lesson, to fight on, to never give up. You're not alone.
