Words of Wisdom

“If we wish to be free, if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending, if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained we must fight!” - Patrick Henry

“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” - John Adams

“God grants liberty only to those who love it, and are always ready to guard and defend it.” - Daniel Webster

You know, my history teach was obsessed with Patrick Henry... We all left that class knowing he should've been President, but never was...

Patrick Henry was a patriot and a firebrand - he did his bit by igniting the minds and hearts of even tempered men who took his charge and moved forward.
